Over the weekend, veteran actor, Robert Altman collaborator and producer Fred Ward died at the age of 79. A reliable face in films and television for nearly 50 years, Ward shined in a variety of different roles giving memorable, understated and deeply human performances. Among the career highlights he leaves behind are roles in The Right Stuff, Tremors, Miami Blues, and Short Cuts (to name but a few samples from his vast filmography).
